Philosophy and Religion

Over a thousand years ago The High Gods and The Old Gods fought a battle for control of The Vales and their people.

In the bloody conflict, which later came to be known as the war of dust, the elven forest kingdom of Teyona was destroyed and transformed into the vast desert that to this day stands as a scar across the land. Even though The High Gods nominally won the engagement, they were humbled by the destruction and suffering they had wrought (at the bidding of evil Sulphos and Petrifos).

The wounded deities on both sides of the conflict signed an accord, agreeing not to step foot in the material world again. No divine avatar has been seen since.
